Beef with Peppers

A yummy variation on beef. Gives you a good protein serve, is easy to prepare and simple to cook. Ensure you choose a good quality lean beef option – such as fillet steak.

 OK after 3pm


  • 500g fillet steak. Thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic. Finely chopped
  • 1 large red onion (chopped)
  • 200g of mixed red and green capsicum (peppers) chunks
  • Spray of olive oil.
  • 5 and ½ tablespoons beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • Ground white pepper.


  1. Heat the oil and add garlic until lightly browned
  2. Add beef strips to wok and stir fry for 3 to 4 mins.
  3. Add the onion, capsicum, beef stock and oyster sauce and stir fry for a further 2 to 3 mins. Add spring onions and stir fry for 1 more minute
  4. Transfer to a serving dish and season with white pepper

Serve immediately.

Red capsicums have very high levels of vitamin C and yellow and green capsicums have nearly as much. Red capsicum contains about 2 teaspoons of natural sugar, making them much more pleasing to the taste buds. The green variety have little sugar and so taste a little more bitter.

No added salt. Although this recipe does not contain added salt, oyster sauce is high in sodium…so don’t use more than the tablespoon.
